Emanuele Pianta
 |
I graduated in Linguistics at the University of Padova in 1991. After working for two years at the Univerisity of Venezia, and for Icon, one of the first Italian companies applying Artificial Intelligence techniques, I've been working as a researcher at Fondazione Bruno Kessler (formerly ITC-irst) since 1993. My current interests include computational morphology and lexicography, deep parsing, relation extraction, evaluation of human language technologies. I teach linguistics at the University of Trento and University of Bolzano, and work for the PhD Program in Cognitive and Brain Sciences at CIMEC, Roverto.

Luisa Bentivogli

I graduated in Philosophy of Language at the University of
Bologna in 1999. I've been working as a researcher at Fondazione Bruno Kessler (formerly ITC-irst) since 1999. I've been involved in several
research projects, including MEANING (multilingual Web-scale language technologies), ONTOTEXT (ontology population from texts), LiveMemories (
active digital memories of collective life). My interests include Computational Lexicography, Lexical Semantics, Contrastive Linguistics,
Corpus Creation and Annotation, Evaluation of Human Language Technologies.

Pamela Forner
 |
I graduated in Foreign Languages and Literatures
at the University of Trento in 2000. From 2001 to 2006 I worked at ITC-irst doing research in the field of
contrastive linguistics, computational lexicography
(Italian MultiWordNet), and
multilingual corpora. From early 2006 to the present, I have been working at CELCT on the organization
of evaluation campaigns, and annotations at different levels.

Matteo Fuoli
 |
I studied Language Sciences for Business and International Communication at the University of Trento, with a thesis on evaluative language resources in a corpus of specialised business discourse. After graduating in 2011, I have worked as conference manager at the European Alliance for Innovation. Since February 2012, I have been involved in projects concerning Textual Entailment and Speech Recognition at CELCT.

Danilo Giampiccolo

I studied Foreign Languages and Literatures
(English and German) and Linguistics at the University of Trento. In February, 2004, I started working on
the evaluation of NLP systems at ITC-irst. Since September 2005, I have coordinated the annotation and
evaluation activities at CELCT.

Alessandro Marchetti
 |
I graduated in 2009 in Communication Science, at the University of
Siena, with a thesis in Generative Linguistics about Quirky Subjects. Since February 2010 I have been working at CELCT in projects
regarding semantic annotation, syntactic annotation, and textual entailment (i.e. RTE6, Cosyne, LiveMemories, ACEtoWiki corpus).

Rachele Sprugnoli
 |
I got my bachelor’s degree in Humanities Computing at the University of Pisa
with a thesis about the digitization of Renaissance Italian text. Then I got my master’s degree with a thesis about the annotation of eventive nouns in Italian. I did an internship at Philips in Eindhoven
(NL) for the development of an Italian TTS system. Since June 2005, I am a Project consultant at CELCT working on semantic
and speech annotation, organization of evaluation campaigns and crowdsourcing for NLP tasks.

Giovanni Moretti

I’m studying Information Technology at
the University of Pisa and I worked as administrator of Oracle system as well as on the development
of web sites and stand-alone applications. I’m familiar with most of the more used programming languages (e.g. C, C++, Perl, Php, VB).
Since 2007, I’m a computer technician at CELCT working
on the SMSCollector Project, RTE and on the Question/Answering evaluation campaigns
(CLEF 2008, ResPubliQA 2009) developing the web interface for data acquisition and for results analysis.

Amedeo Cappelli

Currently, a Research Director at the
“Istituto di Scienza e Tecnologie dell’Informazione - A. Faedo” of the CNR in Pisa,
he has led many Italian and International Research Projects in the fields of Natural Language Processing
and Artificial Intelligence. He currently teaches NLP and text analysis at the University of Pisa.
