Evalita
DESCRIPTION:
Evalita is an initiative devoted to the evaluation of Natural Language Processing tools for Italian. The general objective of Evalita is to promote the development of language technologies for the Italian language, providing a shared framework where different systems and approaches can be evaluated in a consistent manner.
Due to the positive results of Evalita 2007 and Evalita 2009, a new edition of the evaluation campaign is going to be organised in 2011: http://www.evalita.it.
CELCT’S ROLE:
CELCT worked on the scientific coordination of Evalita 2007 and of Evalita 2009. In 2007 the Center organized the Temporal Expression Recognition and Normalization task, while in 2009 it organized the Local Entity Detection and Recognition task. In addition, the Center taked care of the web site and edited the Proceedings.
CELCT is the scientific coordinator of Evalita 2011 and it is going to organize the following tasks:
CELCT is also in charge of the web site and of the publications.
