ProjectsPATExpertDESCRIPTIONIn 2006 and 2008, CELCT collaborated with FBK-irst as a sub-contractor for the EU STREP project "Advanced Patent Document Processing Techniques" (PATExpert). The goal of the project is to change the approach to patent processing from textual to semantic, in the Semantic Web perspective.CELCT’S ROLE:In 2006, CELCT was involved in the linguistic annotation of patent texts for both Part-of-Speech and phrase-level chunking .In 2008, CELCT worked on the manual annotation of semantic relations within English patent texts. In particular, the “part-whole” relation and the “movement” relation were annotated in two corpora of about 50,000 and 100,000 words respectively.
